Since May, 2020, Essential Care Visitor.com has been advocating for
an essential visitor category that identifies those of us who serve our loved ones
in institutions during COVID-19. We family caregivers are the bridge of care.
We are the gap care that are partners with Facilities. We exist.
In May, 2020 we wrote an Essential Care Plan. In August, 2020 we submitted testimony to New York State Legistlature. In early September, 2020 we hosted an Essential Care Visitor Rally Outside of Governor Cuomo's Office. In October, 2020, we hosted the TakeOurNursingHomesBack Rally outside of the New York State Capitol. In November, 2020 we appealed to the State Legislature to Reconvene to vote on four versions of the Essential Caregiver Bill. In March 2021, we held a Remembrance Rally to honor those we lost in nursing homes early in the pandemic.
We are the voices of our loved ones through both direct care and care advocacy in care settings, state legislatures and the media. We are committed to our essential direct care advocacy as essential care visitors so our loved ones don't perish
in long term care facilities, and the paradigm shifts from baseline care to quality care.
Below downloads are the Archival Documents of what birthed the
unprecedented Advocacy to our State Legislature of Acknowledging our
Essential Care Visitor existence within Nursing Facilities Nationwide.
