Essential Care Visitor advocated to the New York State Legislature for
the Essential Care Visitor Bill based off of August 10, 2020 Hearings.
Essential Care Visitor hosted an Essential Visitation Rally outside of Governor Cuomo's office in New York City. On September 15, 2020 the New York State Department of Health expanded visitation to include broader definitions of visitors beyond hospice patients.
Essential Care Visitor curated and organized the "TakeOurNursingHomesBack" Rally outside of the State Capitol in
New York State. Bi-Partisan support occurred, with major press coverage. We were able to continue the voices of our loved ones need to connect with their family caregivers.
We collaborate with other social media groups, as we believe we are all one. Also, we are just learning how it works, and we are awkward with it! But, we welcome your handles!!! We love sharing information. Happy to promote your group on our site, as we get lots of visitors a day - and we believe in connecting ALL of us- as we all have unique stories and experiences to help each other.

We highlight a Social Media Group
a week - hoping to help boost your Membership. This week (3/28)
we Feature, again,
ICARE - which is a group that highlights inspirational phrases for
Caregivers. This is a private group that is
run by our very own Juliet and team!
What began as tele~caregiving support calls in March, 2020 when we were separated from our loved ones, transformed into a national safe space of caregivers coming together to share resources, advocate for essential visitation and continue media outreach.
We are on "Spring Break" for Rallies.
We will commence tutorials, webinars and podcasts in throughout 2021.
One year of Isolation for our Vulnerable is unacceptable. We are not okay that there are Loved Ones who have not been touched and visited by their Families in almost one year. Some of us are in court trying to establish a visitation plan - while others watch their loved one fade out in every video-chat. Staff in the facilities are doing their best, but will never be the bridge~care for sustenance of life that every human has a right to receive.
Please join us on March 12, 2021.
We hosted our third Rally in
New York State on March 12, 2021 in collaboration with other
New York State Family Groups.
We can change this unnecessary
Our curated website below.
With the Vaccination Mandate for
September 27, 2021 - in New York State many providers are in fear of a collapse of our healthcare system. Reform Bills sit on the table, and yet we still do not prioritize our vulnerable in long term care facilities in New York State. The greed of care supersedes the service of care - and the providers claim going broke - versus joining in collaboration all seats at the table to serve our residents.
We will be producing a Town Hall with very Special Guests - stay tuned!!!
This Bill is so important for us at Essential Care Visitor. It is based on our Story.
We began this Journey in on March 12, 2020 when our Facility told us we could not visit and provide care for our loved one indefinitely. We wrote a New York Times Article speaking for the Vulnerable that lived in our community that was terribly hit with COVID-19. We began to introduce to our State Legislature the reality that many vulnerable residents survived based on the care executed by their Family Caregiver. Without it, our disabled loved ones truly decline and deteriorate.
We wrote our Testimonial and submitted it to the Legislative Director in Senator Rachel May's Office. We do not believe care is political - nor did we have any stance on politics. Nor are we lobbyists. But, we did know that Essential Care Visitors were not being acknowledged in history or considered in the integral care of our loved ones.
We wrote an Essential Care Visitor Document for our State Legislature - and the first version of the Bill that Senator May put forth was on September 2, 2020. Suddenly, many other Assemblymen and other Senators, wanted to write their own in response to their Districts.
We waited and waited. And, had a Rally on September 12, 2020 in front of Governor Cuomo's Office asking for an Executive Order on the Bill. Another Rally on October 14, 2020 at the State Capital. And, then, we waited through the Elections. And, finally, we had a March 12, 2021 Remembrance Rally in front of the Albany Capitol for all those lost and isolated.
And, today we are thrilled to announce - that
Senator Rachel May's Personal Caregiver Bill has been signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo on March 29, 2021~we will never be locked out again!
We began this Journey on March 12, 2020 - We did it!!!!
