STATEMENT OF ESSENTIAL CARE VISITORS on RESIDENTS RIGHTS MONTH
October is Resident Rights Month and we are not able to touch our loved ones in nursing home facilities.
While the current Federal and State visitation directives allow for 'compassionate care visitation' - the New York Statewide Facilities are not acknowledging the compassionate care category *Section 3, part C" which allows for touch, essential care and visitation modification with appropriate family representatives.
Our loved ones are victims of violating our residents human and civil rights as we write - yes, even in a pandemic.
The result? More deaths. Deaths from lack of emotional nourishment, isolation, failure to thrive, unexplained weight loss, broken hearts and accelerated dementia.
Essential Care Visitor finds this unacceptable and tragic.
Please tune into our podcast throughout the Month, as we feature guests who will speak on the new visitation crisis in the nursing home facilities Statewide.
